ROOMS AND FACILITIES
Bedrooms
There are a variety of single and double bedrooms of various sizes and shapes. All rooms come with a bed and mattress protector (most king single and some single), a desk and basic chair, a mirror, a set of drawers, and a place to hang your clothes, and usually a small bedside table or shelf. Wireless internet is available in all rooms, the cost of this is included in the board. Students bring their own bedding, pillow and linen. Students clean their own bedrooms and wash their own linen.
Bathrooms & Laundry
There are separate girls and guys bathrooms, containing toilets and showers, within each area of the Hostel. Students do not leave their personal toiletries in the bathroom/showers, but store them in their rooms. These facilities are cleaned regularly by hostel staff.
There are laundries in each area of the hostel. All contain washing machines which are free to use, students provide their own washing powder, washing basket and pegs. There are two dryers available, an hour drying costs $1. Washing lines are at the rear of the property. Students often bring an airing/drying rack which they set up in their rooms.
Kitchen
The Kitchen has a large chiller, freezers, pantry, gas oven & stove top, microwaves, zip hotwater, and is fully equipped with cooking and baking utensils. In the kitchen there is a large island benchtop (for preparing food), a large servery, large sinks and a steriliser. Students clean up after themselves whenever they use the kitchen. They wash all their own dishes and cutlery and place them in the racks to be sterilised. If students have used pots and pans, they wash these by hand.
Common Areas
The common area at the back of No. 9 is an open plan area with large dining tables for eating and studying. There are couches to relax in, chat, and watch movies. There is a TV on the wall. A table tennis table is enjoyed by students.
Gardens
The back of No.9 has a covered deck with outdoor furniture leading onto a flat lawn. There is a volley ball court adjacent at the back of No.7 and various other lawns and gardens around the property.
